1 killed in shooting at The Shops at Red Bird, Dallas police say

According to police, the suspect and victim knew each other.

DALLAS — One person was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon at The Shops at Red Bird, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of West Camp Wisdom Road at about 4 p.m. and found a victim with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded, but the victim died at the scene, police said.

According to investigators, the suspect and victim knew each other. Police said the suspect has been arrested.

Additional details, including what led up to the shooting and the identities of those involved, were not immediately released.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Dallas, reacted to the shooting on X, writing, “My heart is with the loved ones of the victim, and I’m grateful to law enforcement for acting quickly.”
