19-year-old shot and killed in Fort Worth home; suspect in custody, police say

Fort Worth police investigate a homicide after a man is shot and killed inside a home on Gordon Avenue; the suspect is in custody.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Police are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old was shot and killed inside a Fort Worth residence Sunday afternoon.

Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department’s South Division responded to a shooting call around 3 p.m. in the 4900 block of Gordon Avenue, police said. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his back, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, according to a department release.

FWPD said the victim and the suspect were inside a home when the suspect shot the victim with a handgun. The department said that the suspect was taken into custody and is being interviewed by homicide detectives, along with witnesses, as police work to determine what led to the shooting.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Isaac Albert Ramirez.
