Kelli Ferrell is back in the headlines thanks to another lawsuit.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kelli Ferrell has been open about her messy divorce during Season 16. She told the other housewives that she never imagined that things would become so toxic with her ex, Chuvalo Mark Ferrell. The former couple operated a successful restaurant business together before things took a turn. As a result of their split, their finances have seen better days. So Kelli said she was working on getting her finances and business in order. But a messy divorce kept her in court.
On the show, Kelli said Mark refused to pay child support for their children, and he has been locked up twice for failure to pay. Kelli claimed Marc’s actions were out of spite, and she couldn’t understand why things became so contentious.
Well, Kelli is back in the headlines again. US Weekly is reporting that the reality star has been hit by a five-figure lawsuit by the Navy Federal Credit Union for $26,434.86. According to the publication, the lawsuit was filed back in May.
Kelli’s publicist sent a statement to US Weekly in response to the lawsuit news. Blame was seemingly placed on Kelli’s ex.
“Kelli has not been served with any paperwork from Navy Federal Credit Union, which is an account that was shared with her now ex-husband. Due to her ex-husband currently being in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings, we cannot comment on this matter.”
A rep for Mark was not feeling this statement at all and clapped back in a response.
“[Chuvalo] was removed from all joint and business accounts — including those with Navy Federal Credit Union and Truist Bank — during the divorce proceedings in 2022. He has no knowledge of any loans or transactions initiated by [Kelli] after his removal from those accounts.”
Mark’s rep added, “We find it deeply troubling that [Chuvalo’s] name continues to be invoked in matters to which he has no connection. This pattern of blame-shifting — three years post-separation and divorce — appears designed to divert public scrutiny from Ms. Ferrell’s financial difficulties.”
