West End clinched the sectional title with a thrilling 10-5 victory over Nederland Little League in the decisive winner-take-all game.
After taking an early 5-1 lead through four innings, West End saw Nederland rally with four runs in the top of the fifth to even the score.
The road to the championship was anything but smooth.
Running into Nederland for what would be their first clash of the tournament was foreshadowing what was to come with the upcoming games these two squads would play as West End jolted out to a 4-1 lead before Nederland knocked a two-run shot to create a one-run game.
West End would hold on to complete the close finish and reach the Championship game, remaining undefeated.
Nederland, however, battled back through the elimination bracket, defeating Channelview 11-4 to set up a rematch against West End.
In the first championship game, Nederland snatched their revenge and clinched their own close game defeating West End 4-3, setting the stage for the winner-take-all showdown where West End emerged victorious.
While on the flip side, their pitching staff also delivered a standout performance.
West End arms only allowed just 12 runs while racking up 25 strikeouts across the bracket.
