PROSPER, Texas — A teen is dead after an apparent drowning on a North Texas lake.

Monday around 3:30 p.m., Prosper Fire Rescue and the Prosper Police Department responded to a drowning call near Town Lake Park, officials said. During a water rescue search, crews found a 15-year-old boy, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

WFAA chopper footage captured crews during the search, including members of the Frisco Fire Department, Frisco Police Department and the Lewisville Fire Department.

Prosper officials said out of respect for the family, no further information will be released.

This death marks the latest in a growing number of drownings in North Texas this summer. In June, a Dallas firefighter, a three-year-old, a 46-year-old man, a 55-year-old man, and two young girls drowned on local lakes.
