Nadine Lustre, Vice Ganda-led film among first batch of MMFF 2025 entries

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) opened its 51st edition with the launch of its first batch of film entries, where some of its lead stars include Nadine Lustre, Vice Ganda, and Piolo Pascual, to name a few.

The first batch of the MMFF 51 film entries was announced at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati on Tuesday, July 8. Just like the festival’s past editions, the entries were selected based on the quality of the script — where eight films were chosen out of 23 scripts.

The annual festival includes the following activities: announcement of the second batch of film entries (September 30); MMFF 51 grand media conference (October 30); celebrity golf tournament (November 12); MMFF Parade of Stars in Makati (December 19); and Gabi ng Parangal (December 27).

Here is the first batch of MMFF 51 entries:

“Call Me Mother”
Cast: Nadine Lustre and Vice Ganda

“Reconnect”
Cast: Carmina Villarroel, Zoren Legaspi, Gerald Anderson
Director: Jade Castro

“Manila’s Finest”
Cast: Piolo Pascual
Director: Rae Red
