$35,000 Reward Now Posted for Man Wanted in Texas ICE Agent Attack

AUSTIN – (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott announces the offering of a ten thousand dollar reward to add to a twenty-five thousand dollar reward offered by the FBI, for information leading to the capture of a suspect on the run, after an alleged attack targeting ICE agents at the ICE facility in Alvarado July 4th.

In the attack, a responding Alvarado police officer was shot in the neck. The Texas Department of Public Safety has added 32 year old Benjamin Song to it’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List. Song is described as an Asian man, 5 foot 6 inches tall, and weighing about 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, and officials say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Johnson County warrants list Song facing charges of aiding terrorism, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, and engaging in organized crime. A federal arrest warrant was added to the “wants”, charging him with attempted murder of a federal officer, and discharging a firearm in connection with a violent crime.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tips must be placed on the state’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), through a tip on the web on the “Texas 10 Most Wanted” site, or, through a tip delivered online.

In addition to the state reward, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering up to $25,000, bringing the total reward amount up to $35,000.
