7-year-old child injured by glass in Grapevine road rage shooting, police say

According to police, the suspect shot into a truck and drove off.

GRAPEVINE, Texas — A 7-year-old child was injured Thursday evening when someone opened fire on a pickup truck in what police described as a road rage incident.

Officers responded to the shooting around 8 p.m. near Bass Pro Drive and State Highway 121, according to the Grapevine Police Department.

The driver of the pickup truck told police another driver fired into his vehicle and then drove off. The driver was able to stop at a nearby gas station on Grapevine Mills Parkway and call 911.

Police said no one was struck by gunfire, but a 7-year-old inside the truck was injured by shattered glass. The child was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Two other children were also in the vehicle but were not hurt.

Grapevine PD said they have identified the suspect’s vehicle, and the case remains under active investigation.
