Travis Scott Reveals ‘Jackboys 2’ Release Date

Travis Scott is ready to run it back. The Houston rapper has officially confirmed Jackboys 2, the long-awaited sequel to his 2019 Cactus Jack compilation album, is set to arrive this Sunday (July 13).

The news came via Instagram late Thursday (July 10), where Scott posted the album artwork and wrote, “JB2 OUT EVERY WHERE 7 13 SPEAKERS AND SCREAMS AT MAX VOLUME.”

Scott kicked off the Jackboys 2 era earlier this week with the release of “2000 Excursion” on Tuesday (July 8). The cinematic single, which dropped alongside a high-octane music video exclusively on YouTube, reunites him with Cactus Jack labelmates Don Toliver and Sheck Wes over a Cardo-produced beat.

The track features a prominent sample of Ye’s “Power” and finds Scott in top form, rapping, “He sleep with a Spanish bi— in the club/ Bro knowin’ Spanglish, that’s good enough/ Wе took an hour out of the after-hours just to f— up all the ones/ I got a bunch, you ain’t doin’ brunch.” The video showcases Scott and his crew tearing up Texas streets in exotic sports cars and supercharged Ford trucks, even making a pit stop at a Formula 1 race.

Jackboys 2 builds on the legacy of Scott’s 2019 Jackboys album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned hits like “Out West” (featuring Young Thug) and “Gatti” (featuring Pop Smoke). His previous Jackboys release saw 154,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 2, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 79,000 were in album sales, with most of that number owed to sales driven by dozens of merchandise/album bundles sold via Jackboys’ official webstore.

In recent weeks, Scott has sent out customized Lamborghini SUVs branded with the JACKBOYS logo to artists rumored to feature on the album. Among them are GloRilla, Tyla, Vybz Kartel, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and Waka Flocka Flame, though official features have yet to be confirmed.

The rapper has also launched a limited-edition Jackboys 2 merchandise collection, offering fans a range of CD and vinyl bundles with alternate cover art and exclusive apparel, all available on his Cactus Jack website.

While details about the full tracklist remain under wraps, Scott revealed the album will feature 17 tracks and will be hosted by Houston rap icon Bun B. The sequel arrives as Scott continues his dominant run in 2025, having headlined Coachella in April and fresh off winning the I Am Hip Hop Award at last year’s BET Hip Hop Awards.
