Isolated storms dumped up to five inches of rain in some parts of North Texas, including Carrollton, where flash flooding occurred.
CARROLLTON, Texas — Heavy rain and flash flooding have wreaked havoc on some North Texas roads.
The Carrollton Police Department said they have responded to multiple areas of high water Saturday evening. The department said they are closing down roads to prevent drivers from getting stuck.
Here are the areas that were closed due to high water:
- Josey at Keller Springs
- Josey at Sherwood
- Belt Line and Crosby service roads (both directions)
At 10 p.m. Saturday, CPD reported that the front of a train was stuck in high water at the crossing at North Josey Lane and Sherwood Lane, backing up traffic all the way to Trinity Mills.
A WFAA crew confirmed that a BNSF train traveling west was blocked by the high water. As of 11:07 p.m., WFAA confirmed that the train was still stopped, but traffic along Josey Lane was reopened to drivers.
