Here’s who the Texas Rangers picked in the 2025 MLB Draft

ARLINGTON, Texas — Sunday marks the start of the 2025 MLB Draft and we’ll find out who will be selected by the Texas Rangers.

The first three rounds of the draft takes place on Sunday, and rounds four through 20 happen on Monday.

WFAA is keeping track of who the Rangers pick. Their first pick is slotted at No. 12 overall, which is expected to be made at 6:05 p.m. CT on Sunday, according to the team. The No. 52 pick is expected at 8:15 p.m. CT, and the Rangers’ final pick of night one (No. 84) should happen at about 8:45 p.m. CT. 

The Rangers also have the No. 115 overall in the fourth round, No. 146 in the fifth round, and will then select 10th in each of rounds 6-20 to finish the draft.

Here is a look at who the Rangers drafted:

  • 1st round, No. 12: Gavin Fien – SS – Great Oaks HS (CA)
  • 2nd round, No. 52: AJ Russell – P – Tennessee
  • 3rd round, No. 84: Josh Owens – TWP – Providence Academy (TN)
