Ahead of its launch in Mumbai’s BKC, the Tesla India website has updated its catalogue with EV models available at its retail “experience center.”
Currently only Model Y is made available for the Indian patrons. The EV ships with a rear-wheel drive and has a range of 500km per charge. The base price of the electric SUV is Rs 61,07,190 on road. Per the website the estimated delivery of the vehicles will be after September 2025.
For the Indian market, the Tesla Y Model will be available in white and black interiors with five seats. The Tesla Model Y comes in six colours with varying prices as follows:
1) Stealth Grey (Rs 61,07,190)
2) Pearl White Multi-Coat (Rs 62,03,140)
3) Diamond Black (Rs 62,03,140)
4) Glacier Blue (Rs 62,33,440)
5) Quicksilver (Rs 62,94,040)
and
6) Ultra Red (Rs 62,94,040)
For now delivery and registration is only listed for Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, on the Tesla portal. The aforementioned pricings will change reflecting the state and territory.
The company is also offering the EVs with an auto loan that starts at Rs 1,13,958 per month after a downpayment of Rs 6.9 lakh.

Meanwhile the Internet cries in poor. One user jibed, “At the American price point, this car would sell like hotcakes in India. But our babus wanna keep pushing Tata and Mahindra down our throat with high duties.” Another user remarked, “In the US, it is a car. In India, it is a luxury, a tax seminar, and a lesson in patriotism; all for just about ₹23 lakh more.” A third user quipped, “This is a joke. There are so many better cars for so much cheaper.” A fourth wrote, “Price is too high, only elite and tax bachau business owners will buy it.” Yet another user dubbed the hefty price tag as “Magic of Sitharaman .”
