‘Cloud’ inside recycling center sickens 18, no threat to the public, officials say

A Fort Worth recycling facility was evacuated Tuesday after workers reported shortness of breath.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A “cloud” inside a Fort Worth recycling center sickened 18 people, officials said. 

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded Tuesday morning to a Fort Worth recycling facility at 6200 Elliott Reeder Road, officials on the scene said. 

A “cloud” was reported inside the recycling center, firefighters on the scene said. One person was taken to a hospital and 17 others were treated on the scene, officials said. 

The building was evacuated while officials investigated the cause of the incident, officials said. 

There is no ongoing threat to neighbors or other people in the area, officials said.
