Ashanti Turned Up The Heat With THIS Question
On Tuesday, July 15, our fave couple brought their chemistry to the YouTube show, ‘Hot Ones,’ where celebs face a table of fiery chicken wings and even hotter questions. The rules? Answer the question or eat a wing. Nelly, who made it clear he’s not Team Spicy, was ready to spill tea to avoid the heat. But Ashanti wasn’t playing fair. With a grin on her face, she leaned in and said, “I have a question… I may regret this. You mentioned you brought someone with you to Verzuz… who was that?”
Roomies, the room went SILENT!
Nelly let out a nervous laugh while Ashanti slid that tray of wings closer, knowing her man was stuck. “You know what, I don’t even remember that lady. She was a nobody,” he responded, trying to keep it cute. The off-camera crew got “quiet as hell,” as Nelly put it, waiting for the tea. It’s worth mentioning that the woman who accompanied Nelly has not been identified. Ashanti was cackling, loving every second of his squirming. In the end, Nelly took the L and grabbed a wing. But not before hilariously wiping off some hot sauce to save his taste buds.

The Couple’s Viral Verzuz Hug Sparked Reconciliation Buzz
“We cool again,” he said, per Vibe. “I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that was, like, I don’t think planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do. But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more.”
That hug at Verzuz was clearly more than just a moment; it was the spark that reignited their love for each other.
Nelly Shuts Down Ashanti’s “Hall Pass” Question
Also, on Complex’s ‘GOAT Talk,’ Ashanti tested Nelly with a question about his “GOAT hall pass.” But Nelly, at 50 years young, wasn’t falling for the bait. As Ashanti read the card, asking who he’d pick for a hall pass, Nelly shut it down REAL quick. “That’s a dumba** question,” he declared, looking at her like she lost her mind. “Who do y’all think y’all about to set up with that sh**? There’s no way, I’m 50!”
Ashanti was all giggles, clapping and high-fiving her man for dodging the trap like a seasoned pro. “I could never fall for that. Who the hell answers that with their wife sitting across from them? Gotta be an idiot,” Nelly added, keeping it 100. Roomies, we love how Nelly stayed loyal and kept Ashanti smiling.
Nelly Said “No Diapers” And Ashanti Wasn’t Having It
Meanwhile, on their new Peacock reality show ‘We Belong Together,’ Ashanti and Nelly recently got into it over diaper duty. Ashanti was NOT here for Nelly’s refusal to change their newborn son’s diapers.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous you’ll be sleep and he’ll be mad loud!” she snapped, giving him that look. Nelly, on the other hand, hit back with, “I’ma take you back to this conversation we had before you kicked me under the table. I said, ‘Baby, I’ll give you the world. I just ain’t changing no diaper.’”
In a flashback scene, Nelly’s seen telling his boys that until their son can say “I’m hungry” or “I need to use the bathroom,” he’s Ashanti’s responsibility. “As soon as he starts walking and talking, I told her, ‘Enjoy,’ ‘cause he’s with the crew,” Nelly said, laughing. Meanwhile, Ashanti was giving pure side-eye energy over her man’s answer and continuous refusal to assist in changing diapers.
