Tracee Ellis Ross Explains Why She Only Packs Two Pairs Of Underwear When Traveling

Tracee Ellis Ross is out here living her best minimalist life, it seems. At a recent summit, the former ‘Black-ish’ star dropped a surprising travel tip: she only packs two pairs of underwear for her trips. Tracee keeps it cute, compact, and clean while jet-setting. Her comment sparked questions, which the actress seemed more than happy to answer.

Tracee Ellis Ross Only Packs 2 Pairs Of Underwear When Traveling

Tracee spilled the tea on stage with Travel + Leisure Editor-in-Chief Jacqui Gifford on Wednesday, July 16, as she revealed her ultra-light packing list. “There’s always one bathing suit, a flip flop, and one little dress I can roll up. And there’s always two undies.” When she was then pressed with the question, “Two undies, that’s it?”

Tracee didn’t hesitate to elaborate on her answer. She explained her laundry routine when she’s on the road. Using hotel sinks, she washes one pair of clothes with shower gel or a bar of soap in one sink, rinses them in another, and hangs them on the towel rack to dry. “If I’m gone for a month on this trip, you can’t pack a month’s worth of underwear,” she said. “How do you do that? They take up a lot of space.”

Reuniting with Her Girlfriends for Pattern Hair Care

Outside of talks about her underwear, Tracee’s been serving looks and legacy lately, after staging a ‘Girlfriends’ reunion last month. The actress and entrepreneur brought back her iconic TV crew, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones, for a commercial promoting her Pattern Beauty hair care line.

The chemistry was pure nostalgia as the ladies channeled their ‘Girlfriends’ characters to celebrate Tracee’s brand, which caters to curly, coily, and textured hair. Tracee launched Pattern in 2019, and it’s been a game-changer for embracing natural hair with products like leave-in conditioners and styling creams. Seeing Joan, Toni, Maya, and Lynn together again (well, almost) had fans reminiscing about the early 2000s and cheering for Tracee’s boss moves in the beauty industry. See the commercial HERE!

She Recently Opened Up To Michelle Obama About Single Life And No Kids

Tracee Ellis Ross’ not just keeping it real with her travel hacks; she’s getting vulnerable about her personal journey, too. In a recent heart-to-heart with Michelle Obama, Tracee opened up about the struggles of being single and childless at 52. She shared how society often puts pressure on women to check certain boxes by a certain age, but she’s embracing her path with grace. “It’s not what I dreamed for myself,” she admitted, but she’s focused on living authentically and finding joy in her independence.

“As much grief does surface for me around not having children and not having a partner… I still wouldn’t want the [wrong] partner. I am not interested in that, you have to make my life better it can’t just be I’m in a relationship just to be in a relationship,” she added.
