60-year-old man’s body recovered from the Brazos River in Palo Pinto County, officials say

The man reportedly went missing in the water in Graford.

PALO PINTO COUNTY, Texas — A 60-year-old man’s body was recovered from the Brazos River after he went missing while swimming in Palo Pinto County, officials said. 

According to the Texas Game Wardens, the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a possible drowning Saturday afternoon near Rochelle’s Canoe Rental in Graford, Texas. 

Officials said Texas Game Wardens in Palo Pinto, Young and Archer Counties responded to the scene on the Brazos River and started searching for the man who they said went missing while swimming. 

The Graham Fire Department Dive Team also responded to the scene and divers later recovered the man’s body. 

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” Texas Game Wardens said in a news release. 

The man’s identity has not been released at this time.
