Nobody does beef quite like Texas—ask the foodies. From Austin Monthly’s own “Burger Bash” to Beef Loving Texans’ “Smoke Lab”, visitors and locals alike constantly seek to experience the best of what the Texas food scene has to offer. There is only one problem: it seems impossible to try it all.
Across the state, there are 149,000 beef farmers and ranchers supplying consumers with beef in grocery stores, farmers markets, and restaurants. Of these restaurants, thousands serve the true-Texan beef dishes we love. From Tex-Mex, to barbeque, to burgers and steaks, these dishes have made Texan food famous, each one with beefy bites worth trying.
That’s why Beef Loving Texans launched the Ultimate Beef Trail. This mobile passport guides foodies on a statewide tour of the best in beef, presenting a special opportunity to try restaurants in new communities. Users can choose between a statewide pass or a number of niche regional experiences, such as “Panhandle Country Fried Steak Quest”, “Houston Burger Blitz”, or “South Texas Tex-Mex Trail”.
“The Ultimate Beef Trail is back, now with new regional passes that highlight the delicious and diverse beef flavors and unique food culture across Texas,” said Rachel Chou, director of consumer marketing for Beef Loving Texans. “From smoky brisket and sizzling fajitas to burgers and beyond, it’s a chance to discover standout dishes while supporting the people who make beef dishes unforgettable.”
The Texas beef scene is special, and trying it should be easy. The Ultimate Beef Trail is an accessible and adventurous culinary experience unlike anything foodies have experienced. From Amarillo to McAllen, Beef Loving Texans guides users in rediscovering landmark restaurants such as Black’s Barbeque and The Salt Lick, while also exposing them to beloved hole-in-the-wall joints like Ashley’s Turnaround Cafe and Elliot’s Table. It’s a tour of beef—by Texans and for Texans.
Starting now until the end of the year, beef lovers are invited to download the mobile pass and join this uniquely Texan (and uniquely delicious) journey. Users earn points for eating beef at participating restaurants, which can be redeemed for exclusive Beef Loving Texans merchandise and entry into a grand prize drawing.
Beef Loving Texans hopes the Ultimate Beef Trail will be about more than just eats; Chou says it’s designed not only to familiarize Texans with local beef specialties, but with one another and the state they love.
“It’s more than a meal; it’s a road trip worth taking.”
