Details:
Before Rodgers and Hammerstein, there was Rodgers and Hart. On opening night of his former partner’s hit musical, Oklahoma!, Lorenz Hart sits at the bar bemoaning Hammerstein’s newfound success. The wry biographical comedy stars Ethan Hawke as crestfallen Hart and Bobby Cannavale as a charming bartender.
Austin Ties:
In addition to working with Austin native Hawke, local director Richard Linklater hired longtime collaborator Graham Reynolds to compose the film score. The Austin musician has previously scored many of Linklater’s movies, including Bernie, Before Midnight, and A Scanner Darkly.

Chad Powers
Details:
Based on an Eli Manning sketch in 2022, this new series follows college quarterback Russ Holliday (Glen Powell), whose bad behavior derails his athletic career. Desperate for a second chance, he disguises himself as Chad Powers and walks onto a struggling Southern football team.
Austin Ties:
While the titular character is played by the famous Austinite, his doppelganger is also in the mix: The winner of last fall’s Glen Powell Look-Alike Contest, Maxwell Braunstein, is slated to have a brief cameo on the show.

Details:
Set two years before the original 1979 sci-fi thriller, the eight-episode show follows the crash landing of a mysterious research vessel called the Maginot in 2120. A wave of deadly creatures is unleashed as a dystopian corporation struggles to contain them.

Not only is the series created by local Noah Hawley, the prolific writer-director behind Fargo, but it also stars Sydney Chandler, the daughter of Friday Night Lights alum and Dripping Springs resident Kyle Chandler.

Details:
Calling all consumers of propane and propane accessories: A 10-episode revival of beloved sitcom King of the Hill features Bobby Hill as a 20-something chef and continues to highlight Hank Hill and the residents of fictional Arlen, Texas.
