5 hospitalized, including children, after crash in southern Dallas

A two-vehicle crash in southern Dallas sent five people, including three children, to the hospital on Wednesday evening, authorities say.

DALLAS — Five people, including three children, were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in southern Dallas, authorities said.

The collision happened around 8:15 p.m. in the 600 block of E. Laureland Road, near the intersection with Shadycrest Trail, according to the Dallas Police Department. Officers arrived at the scene along with Dallas Fire-Rescue crews, who dispatched six rescue units.

Dallas Fire-Rescue later confirmed that five people were transported from the scene, three of whom were children. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

DPD said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
