Hundreds of books donated to promote reading in students

Two local groups teamed up to help foster a love of reading for some of the youngest in the North Texas Community.

Dallas Stars great Marty Turco and the Dallas Stars Foundation, with National Life Group, hosted a Scholastic Book Fair for some lucky students in the Dallas ISD.

Each student at Cedar Crest Elementary received three books, and 300 more were donated to the school to put in their book vending machine. Think about a snack vending machine, but with books, for the kids at the school.

The event will also include Fitness Stars Ball Hockey Clinic, an education assembly with Vic, and a check presentation for $15,290 to be donated to the school.

Great Job Laura Harris & the Team @ NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth for sharing this story.
