Black Scholar in a Wheelchair for 18 Years Has Learned to Walk Again and Will Soon Earn His Third Degree

Flowers, an African American scholar from southern Maryland who is also known as “Professor X,” is a proud Spring 2025 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, that has officially advanced to doctoral candidacy in Transpersonal Psychology at Gateway University. His story is so inspirational because he was previously in a wheelchair for 18 years and has since learned how to walk again. Even more, after he finishes his doctoral candidacy, he will have earned his third college degree.
