13-year-old girl recovered, suspect arrested in AMBER Alert issued overnight, officials say

The missing girl was found and a suspect was arrested after her disappearance prompted an AMBER Alert overnight.

LEWISVILLE, Texas — A missing girl was recovered and a suspect was arrested in connection with an alleged abduction that prompted an AMBER Alert overnight, police said. 

An AMBER Alert was issued following the abduction of a 13-year-old girl with physical and mental disabilities, Lewisville police said in a press release. An alert was sent to phones around 5 a.m. Sunday. The child was last seen around 11:35 p.m. in the 1200 block of South State Highway 121 Business in Lewisville, officials said. 

Around 6:46 a.m., Lewisville police said the girl was found and a suspect was arrested in connection with the abduction, officials said. 

Police did not immediately release the identity of the suspect; an investigation is underway, police said.
