CEO Linda Yaccarino stepped down earlier, even as the Elon Musk-led company entered into a $200 million contract with the Department of Defense to deploy Grok at the Pentagon. Amid the flurry of events, the company dropped 2 AI Avatars or Grok Companions, dubbed Ani and Rudy. Ani, an NSFW lingerie-clad female avatar, has already gone viral for her shenanigans. Rudy’s ‘bad’ mode has kept some users on the edge. The furry AI cusses and curses. A third male is yet to be inducted but has been teased.
Elon Musk tried to crowdsourcethe name for the third Grok companion. His current partner and Neuralink boss Shivon Zilis suggested ‘Nyx,’ to which Elon Musk remarked, “Good one.”
In a follow-up post, Tesla’s billionaire boss described the characteristics of the yet-to-be-released male avatar.
His personality is inspired by Edward Cullen from Twilight and Christian Grey from 50 Shades.”
On a user’s suggestion for an alternative character from the Pride and the Prejudice, Musk stated
We will, of course, have another character inspired by Mr. Darcy.”

Reactions poured in with several demanding alternatives, like “Aragon” from the Lord of the Rings to even “Radhe from the Tere Naam Hindi movie.”
Reacting to Elon Musk’s description of the AI’s personality traits, one user scoffed, “That’s the worst combo personality I’ve ever heard in my life,” while another suggested, “a mix of Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe would be more masculine.”
A third user jibed, “You should name him Retardio because this whole thing is retarded.”
Yet another user decried, “Enough with this degenerate nonsense.”
