Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold May Launch in October 2025: Report

Samsung’s much-awaited tri-fold smartphone is now expected to make its global debut by the end of 2025, according to recent reports. Unlike previous speculation about a new series, the device is now tipped to launch under the existing Galaxy Z branding and may be called the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. This would make it the company’s first triple-screen foldable smartphone, signaling a significant step forward in Samsung’s foldable tech journey.

Tech insider Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) claims the device will officially adopt the Galaxy Z TriFold name, placing it alongside the Z Fold and Z Flip models. This move suggests Samsung is looking to unify all foldable formats under one cohesive brand, rather than splintering into multiple lineups. The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to push boundaries in multi-form factor design while maintaining Samsung’s premium foldable identity.

Tipster Ice Universe has revealed on Weibo that Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone is likely to launch in October 2025. This potential release timeline sets up a direct rivalry with Huawei, which is expected to unveil the successor to its Mate XT Ultimate Design foldable in September 2025, just a month prior. The back-to-back launches could intensify competition in the high-end foldable market.

Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone, codenamed Q7M and bearing the model number SM-F968, is reportedly nearing mass production and may debut as a limited release, according to sources familiar with the project. This aligns with Samsung’s cautious approach toward debuting radical new form factors, especially in the competitive foldable market.

A standout feature of the device is its 9.96-inch display when fully unfolded, offering a near-tablet-sized experience, while the 6.54-inch folded screen allows standard smartphone usage. The handset is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and could house a silicon-carbon battery, a next-gen power source promising faster charging and extended lifespan over traditional lithium-ion batteries.
