Mayor Eric Adams has officially announced the return of the “Rise Up NYC” concert series for summer 2025 — a citywide celebration of music, community, and culture.
This year’s series will feature 10 free outdoor concerts across all five boroughs, running from July 19th to August 17th. The initiative is part of Mayor Adams’ larger “We Outside Summer” campaign, aimed at providing safe, enjoyable, and cost-free entertainment to New Yorkers amid rising living expenses.
“Summer is officially here, and it’s time for New York City to ‘Rise Up’ with us,” said Mayor Adams. “These concerts offer not only amazing performances but a chance for communities to come together and enjoy what makes this city special.”
The 2025 lineup is stacked with big-name talent, including Johnny Gill, Beenie Mann, Fabolous, Lloyd, Funkmaster Flex, Erica Campbell, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Lisa Lisa, Cee Cee Peniston, Luis Vargas, Jose Alberto El Canario, The Sugar Hill Gang and the Furious 5 feat. Melle Mel and Scorpio, Stevie B, Big Daddy Kane, Wayne Wonder, Mya, Bobby Konders and Jabba, EPMD, El Blachy, Rob Bas, A Boogie, Fabolous, and more.
The series will kick off in Brooklyn’s Wingate Park on July 19th, with a Caribbean-flavored performance featuring Beanie Man and Patrice Roberts. This year’s Rise Up NYC also partners with City Parks Foundation’s iconic SummerStage, bringing even more energy to local parks throughout the city.
In its fourth season, Rise Up NYC continues to build on the legacy of past performances by legendary artists like Patti LaBelle, Wyclef Jean, Ja Rule, Sean Paul, MaryMary, and Chrisette Michele. The concerts are open to all and completely free — offering a vital cultural experience to residents and tourists alike.
From hip-hop and R&B to dancehall and pop, Rise Up NYC is shaping up to be one of the summer’s must-attend events for music lovers.
