June Mar Fajardo claimed a record-extending 12th Best Player of the Conference award in convincing fashion prior to Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals between his team San Miguel Beer and TNT on Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Fajardo was the hands-down winner of the honor after garnering 1,085 points based on statistics and votes from the media and players.

Teammate CJ Perez placed second with 704 points while high-scoring guard Robert Bolick of NLEX placed third with 562.
Forty-five percent of the statistical points were used as criteria, 30 percent came from the media while the remaining 25 percent were from the players.

Fajardo averaged 16.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 blocks during the season-ending conference which saw him buck a calf injury to power San Miguel in the Finals.
The 6-foot-10 center claimed the second of three BPCs awards handed out in Season 49, putting him in strong consideration for taking the Most Valuable Player for the third straight year and ninth overall, the most by any player.
Fajardo was the Best Player of the Conference during the Governors’ Cup, edging out Barangay Ginebra’s Japeth Aguilar. Former NorthPort star Arvin Tolentino was BPC during the Commissioner’s Cup.
But Fajardo has bigger things in mind as he was trying to put the Beermen in a commanding 3-1 lead over the Tropang 5G in the championship series being played as of posting time.
