Sundar Pichai Joins Billionaire Club As Google’s AI-Backed Profits Soars Stock; Elon Musk Calls It ‘Serious Money’

Google’s desi boss, Sundar Pichai, is officially a billionaire as the search engine giant’s parent, Alphabet, recorded profit.

Pichai, in his X/Twitter post, stated that the company added $75 billion in revenue since 2015. He wrote that YouTube and Cloud made an annual run of $110 billion at the end of 2024. His statement came after getting off the quarterly earnings call, which he dubbed “great.” It was Pichai’s (and Alphabet’s) 40th earning call. The 53-year-old joined Google in 2004 as a materials engineer and was elevated as the CEO of the newly formed venture Alphabet Inc. in 2015.

The IIT Kharagpur alumnus now has a net worth of $1.1 billion. Google’s stock is at an all-time high, with Pichai holding a 0.02% stake in the company. Per Bloomberg, Pichai’s net worth would have been $2.5 billion had he held on to all of his shares, some of which he sold this year.

So what does the Google boss do with his millions in the coffers? Pichai spent $182 to acquire a 49% share of the London Spirit, a British Cricket League franchise. Per reports, Pichai’s swanky $40 million California mansion’s garage houses Mercedes Maybach S650, a BMW 730 LD and a Mercedes V-Class.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk reacted to Sundar Pichai’s AI-fueled earning records posted on X/Twitter calling it ‘impressive’ and “serious money.”
