Tougen Anki Season 2: Rumours & Release Date

New anime series Tougen Anki offers plenty of stylish demon-infused action, with a mythological flavour to boot. It might be why so many people are tuning in. After only a couple of episodes, the series is the fifth most-watched non-English show on Netflix globally.

It also reached the Top 10 in 27 countries, so momentum is on its side. With good word of mouth, viewership is likely to grow in the following weeks, especially as more episodes come out. But what about a potential season 2?

Tougen Anki Season 2 Release Date

At the time of writing, there’s no information available on whether fans will get additional seasons of Tougen Anki. The series premiered in early July, so there’s still time for an official announcement later during the first season’s run.

There will reportedly be 24 episodes in season 1, so the anime will roll out until the end of the year. For now, you can tune in weekly to get your fix. If Tougen Anki Season 2 becomes a reality, it could arrive sometime in late 2026.

Tougen Anki Cast

  • Koutaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki

What Could Happen in Tougen Anki Season 2?

The story follows Shiki Ichinose. He’s a teen raised by Tsuyoshi, a former monster hunter, or Momotarō.

One day, the two are ambushed, and Tsuyoshi is killed. In the aftermath, Shiki discovers that he carries the blood of Oni, demons. This basically throws him into an ancient war against the descendants of Momotarō. To harness his power and learn how to fight back, he enrolls in a secret school run by the Oni Agency.

So far, the anime blends action and emotion well, setting up an engaging narrative for the first season. The story is fairly tropey, featuring a rebellious hero who discovers his hidden lineage, schools for warriors, revenge, and so on. Still, it should be a great watch for action anime fans, especially as there’s plenty of room for growth.

If there will be a Tougen Anki season 2, it’s a bit too early to speculate about the plot. The anime is based on the manga series by Yura Urushibara. What happens in a future installment will largely depend on how much ground the first 24 episodes cover.

For now, all we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride. If you want to get ahead of the story, the manga is available in English.

Are There Other Shows Like Tougen Anki?

If you’re a fan of anime series, there’s plenty of other exciting content worth checking out on Netflix. We recommend The Summer Hikaru Died, Sakamoto Days, Dandadan, and Castlevania to get started.
