An organic grocer continues to ramp up its presence in North Texas amid fierce competition among multiple chains vying to expand in the region.
Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. could set up its first location in Waxahachie, a fast-growing city 30 miles south of downtown Dallas, as the anchor tenant of a new retail center, according to a July 16 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Construction on the 23,000-square-foot store could start in October and wrap up September 2026, according to the filing. The estimated cost of the project is $4.3 million.
The store would be located in The Plaza at Bessie Coleman, planned on the south side of Bessie Coleman Boulevard at North Highway 77, according to information shared at a May 13 Waxahachie Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Trinity Partners, a Southlake-based commercial real estate firm, is the developer of the retail center while Florida-based Cuhaci Peterson is the design firm for the Sprouts, according to the TDLR filing.
