“What’s in front of you is a whole world of experiences beyond your imagination. Put yourself, and your growth and development, first.”

-Phylicia Rashad

Happy Friday Reader,

I hope you had a great week and have some fun planned for the weekend. In continuing the conversation from our newsletter last week, I wanted to expand on living our dreams.

Don’t run from your dreams.

In a perfect world, what would your dream life look like?

Where would you live?
How would your day begin, and how would it end?
Who would be with you, and just as importantly, what would you finally release?

And when you take your last breath, what will make you smile?

We don’t ask ourselves these questions often enough. We are constantly being reminded of legacy, what we’ll leave behind when we’re gone. But I’m more interested in the future. The future we get to live in while we’re still here. The future that’s shaped by desire, decision, and design. That future sets the tone for how we move, what we tolerate, and the standards we create beyond the family we were born into and the society we were placed in.

The world is shifting. Rights are being stripped. Rules are being written without our consent. But here’s the truth: even amid chaos, we still have a choice. We still hold the power to decide how we will respond and how we will move forward. That’s not motivational talk. That’s divine authority. And it’s time we tapped into it, fully.

I saw the title of a song recently, “Unity in Diversity.” It sounded like magic. It also sounded like a mantra. Our dreams are inclusive by nature. From the teams we build to the chosen families we lean into, our vision for the future includes people who stretch us, challenge us, and see us. When we choose exclusivity, we miss out. We miss lessons. We miss growth. Because you never know who holds the key to your next chapter.

When I think about my own life, I often wonder what would have happened had I not dreamed of exploring the world. Had I stayed small. But I didn’t. I chose curiosity. And because of that, I’ve walked the streets of South Africa, tasted the flavors of Thailand, stood in the quiet of Canada, and found warmth in the Grand Caymans. In each place, I met extraordinary people. People who didn’t look like me, didn’t live like me, and didn’t believe what I believe. And still, they shaped me. They expanded my worldview. They helped me see myself, not just as a citizen of a country, but as a citizen of the world.

That shift changed everything.

We all have a dream life inside us. Places we want to go. Cultures we want to feel. Rooms we want to belong in. The truth is, the universe lives inside of you. And how you see yourself decides what world you build. If you only see tradition, you’ll live in a loop of tradition. But if you allow yourself to see possibility, you’ll create a loop of adventure. That’s the difference between surviving and living.

So I’m inviting you to belong everywhere. To feel comfortable everywhere. To walk into rooms and know that you are not asking for permission—you’re bringing presence. You belong. No matter what small minds try to convince you otherwise.

This is your reminder:
Don’t give up on your dream.
Excavate the self-doubt.
Get honest about what you want.

Like in the movie Sinners, there are vampires out there feeding off your essence. Building brands, securing checks, and scaling empires from what you’ve naturally been doing your whole life. It’s time to stop letting your brilliance be borrowed. It’s your turn to do it for yourself. You are the genesis of it all. You are the blueprint. You are the superpower. You just have to choose to live like it.

What will you choose?

Have an amazing weekend. And if you need a guide to help you get clear on what’s next, take a moment to download The Next Chapter Workbook. It’s designed to help you think deeper, dream wider, and have an honest conversation with yourself about the future you want to build.

The life you desire is still possible. Don’t let fear talk you out of it.

Defying Gravity.

I’ve spent this week immersed in the Wicked soundtrack, and let me tell you, it’s taken on a whole new meaning. Listen closely, and let it serve as a powerful reminder: We, too, can defy gravity.

Just like Elphaba, we have the power to rise above, to challenge the odds, and to break free from the limits that others (and sometimes even we) try to impose. The journey might not be easy, but it’s ours to take.
