Eminem‘s Happy Gilmore 2 character has finally been revealed as the son of somebody from the first film.
While many thought that the rap legend would be making a cameo as himself, the release of the movie on Friday (July 25) revealed that Em is playing the son of Donald, a fan who would routinely heckle Adam Sandler’s unorthodox golfer.
Named Donald Jr., Em’s character replicates the antics of his father and attempts to put Happy off his game and nearly come to physical blows.
Em also taunts Sandler by saying: “I know a lot about fighting. I’ll bite your leg off.”
Shortly afterwards, he ends up in an alligator infested lake, meeting an untimely end.
Eminem is not the only rapper to cameo in the film with Cam’ron, Kid Cudi, Bad Bunny and Post Malone also making appearances.
Cudi plays an FBI agent, Bad Bunny has a prominent role as Happy’s caddy, Post Malone appears briefly as a DJ while Cam’ron portrays himself in his guise as a sports commentator.
Cudi announced his own casting on Instagram, saying: “I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a minute!!! This is so fuckin HUGE. Its been a long time dream of mine to work w Adam, hes my favorite, and his movies and comedy made up my childhood.
“Another dream come true. BLESSED!! Get ready, this ones gonna be EPIC.”
Sandler recently hyped up Eminem’s appearance in the long-awaited comedy sequel during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show.
He said: “Eminem was cool, he came by, he was great. I’ve known Eminem for a long time, he’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell. I think we just hung out a day with Eminem and he just shot and shot and he was insane. [He] said a million things we can use and a million that we’re glad we have him on tape.”
While Eminem has not acted out a full role since 2002’s 8 Mile, he has made a number of cameos in films and TV shows over the years, mostly in comedies such as Funny People, The Interview and Entourage.
