SWAT crews respond to home in Fort Worth

Police in Fort Worth address a barricaded person situation after shots were fired inside a home on Heron Drive.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Police are responding to a potential barricaded person in a home in western Fort Worth.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, crews were responding to a distress call at the home on Heron Drive, near Lake Worth, when shots were heard coming from inside the home. The Fort Worth Fire Department confirmed that no first responders were injured.

FWPD said that SWAT crews were en route to the home and are treating it as a barricaded person situation. Police do not believe this is a hostage situation.

White Settlement PD is also on the scene, and said that there is a “significant police presence along N. Las Vegas Trail and Heron Drive.”
