H-E-B bought land in another North Texas city. Here’s what we know

SHERMAN, Texas — H-E-B has bought land in another North Texas city — this one about 70 miles north of Dallas. 

A spokesperson for the popular Texas-based grocery store chain confirmed H-E-B recently bought 19.8 acres of land near the northwest quadrant of the intersection of FM 1417 and U.S. 75 in Sherman, located in Grayson County, not far from the Texas-Oklahoma border. 

H-E-B spokesperson Mabrie Jackson said there’s no date set for construction of any store on the land yet.

“However, we look forward to serving more Texans in the coming years,” Jackson said in a statement. 

The news comes after H-E-B announced earlier this month that it closed on 22.8 acres of land on the northeast corner of U.S. 377 and Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound and plans to start construction this fall on a new store near the Walsh Ranch development in West Fort Worth. No construction date is set for a store in Flower Mound either, according to an H-E-B spokesperson. 

H-E-B, which was founded in Kerrville but is now based in San Antonio and celebrated its 120th anniversary this year, has more than 455 stores in Texas and Mexico.
