DART train service in Downtown Dallas suspended due to ‘ongoing incident’, officials say

WFAA Choppper footage showed a heavy presence of fire crews in the area.

DALLAS — Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) service has been suspended through Downtown Dallas Wednesday afternoon as crews deal with an “ongoing incident” near the Pearl/Arts District Station, officials said.

According to a post from DART on X, the incident may cause significant delays for passengers, though shuttle buses are still available for passengers at the Victory, EBJ/Union, West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, Cityplace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue safely and as quickly as possible,” DART said in the post.

WFAA chopper footage of the scene showed a large presence of fire crews, appearing to be working on a train inside a tunnel. The train did appear to have some damage on its top side.

DART could not confirm to WFAA if anyone was on the train when the incident occurred, but they did say they had not received any reports of injuries at the time of publication.
