IKEA and Best Buy are teaming up to launch kitchen and storage planning services at Texas Best Buy stores, starting fall 2025.
HOUSTON — A new retail collaboration is coming to Texas that could change the way you plan your home. Best Buy and IKEA U.S. have announced a partnership to pilot in-store kitchen and laundry room planning services at select locations, blending IKEA’s functional, affordable design with Best Buy’s cutting-edge appliances and technology.
Launching this fall, the program will debut in 10 Best Buy stores nationwide, including five in Texas:
- Alamo Ranch
- Hulen
- Humble
- Mesquite
- South Austin
Each participating store will feature a 1,000-square-foot IKEA footprint, showcasing inspirational kitchen and laundry room setups. These spaces are designed to help customers envision their dream homes, combining design and tech in one place.
“This partnership between IKEA and Best Buy is about making great design and functionality more accessible for the many,” said Rob Olson, chief operation officer, IKEA U.S. “We’re creating a one-stop destination where customers can design their dream kitchen, storage solutions or laundry space with ease.”
At these pilot locations, IKEA co-workers will be on hand to help customers plan and order home furnishings, while Best Buy’s expert “blue shirts” will assist with tech and appliance recommendations.
Notably, the Alamo Ranch location will also serve as a pickup point for IKEA products, allowing customers to collect most IKEA U.S. items purchased online or in-store — for free.
“With this partnership, we get to combine technology and design and show shoppers what’s truly possible in their home like never before,” added Patrick McGinnis, chief merchandising officer at Best Buy.
This innovative collaboration marks the first time IKEA products and services will be accessible through another U.S. retailer, offering customers a new and more convenient way to create beautiful, functional spaces.
