Rapping dentist Dr. Rose transforms smiles and lives at DFW’s free dental event

Dr. Rose and fellow dentists at DARKCon provided $100K of free dental care, transforming smiles and restoring confidence.

PLANO, Texas — Dr. Jerrett Rosenborough goes by Dr. Rose. He’s also known as the rapping dentist. In his chair, smiles may start with teeth, but they become breakthroughs.

“You have to know how to serve because a lot of people come in with a lot of trauma,” said Dr. Rose with Rose Aesthetics.

Knowing every smile has a story, the Oak Cliff native uses the latest technology to not only treat patients but cut down on costs.

“I was speaking at a school over in Oak Cliff,” said Dr. Rose. “A little girl stood up and said, we don’t go to the dentist because my mama can’t afford it.”

It was stories like that one that led Dr. Rose to join other dentists in DARKCon. It stands for dental, aesthetics, rehabilitation, knowledge. DARKCon is a dental conference in the DFW.

Last weekend, they performed $100,000 worth of dental care to patients for free.

“My daughter, my husband, my friends, nobody, nobody knew what I was going through,” said Rachel Packer, a dental patient.

She received free dental work at the conference. She said growing up, her family didn’t have the resources for proper dental care, as she struggled with a calcium deficiency.

“Lots of pain, very brittle, breaking, chipping off, in the hospital all the time from abscesses having to get it drained, having to get root canals, extractions,” said Packer. “I’ve been through a lot with my teeth, and at one point, I gave up.”

She spent years hiding her smile that not even her daughter had seen.

“I really just want to smile at my daughter’s graduation next year, where my teeth are showing,” said Packer.

With the help of dentists like Dr. Rose, Packer got her first look at the side-by-side transformation. “Oh, Jesus, who is that,” asked Packer as she looked at the pictures.

“You can see all the tears in my eyes, in that one, too. I was happy,” said Packer.

“Look at your eyes. Your eyes are even brighter,” said Dr. Rose to Packer. “That’s what manifests your smile is. That’s what DARKCon is. That’s what Rose Aesthetics is about, just storing people in the right positions, so that God can do his miracle.”

It’s a miracle that restores confidence and hope.

“I’m like it’s me! I’m back,” said Packer.
