Nearly a decade ago, Jordan and Emma Walbridge were pioneering such a unique concept at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport that airport officials didn’t know where to place them.

The couple created Gameway Inc., a gaming lounge for airports where customers purchase a 30-minute, one-hour or all-day pass to play video games on an Xbox, PlayStation or PC. Each device has about 30 of the newest and most popular games downloaded. Players can log onto their own gaming accounts, or they can play on an existing Gameway account.

The company has since expanded to 10 locations: a second spot in DFW in Terminal B; two locations in Los Angeles Airport, John F. Kennedy Airport and Detroit Metro Airport; and one apiece in Charlotte Douglas Airport and Houston Hobby Airport. The founders plan to open two more by the end of 2025 at Chicago Midway Airport and Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport.

“We’ve proven to the airports that this belongs, not just in small airports or in small terminals, but in every major airport and every major terminal in America,” Jordan Walbridge said. “In doing so, countries have reached out to us because we’re the inventor of it.”
