Apple iPhone 17 Series Specs Leaked Ahead of Launch: What to Expect

Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone 17 series on 9 September, according to a report from German outlet iPhone-ticker.de, which cites local mobile providers. Sticking to its traditional September launch cycle, Apple is likely to introduce four models this year: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. If the leaked timeline is accurate, pre-orders will begin on 12 September, with deliveries and in-store sales starting on 19 September.

Although Apple hasn’t officially confirmed the date, the reported 9 September launch aligns with earlier predictions — including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who suggested the event would take place between 8 and 12 September.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to bring notable hardware upgrades, including the powerful new A19 chip for the iPhone 17 and 17 Air, and the A19 Pro chip for the Pro models. Display sizes will vary across the lineup, with the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro rumored to feature 6.3-inch screens, the iPhone 17 Air a 6.5-inch display, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max boasting a large 6.9-inch screen.

Material-wise, the iPhone 17, 17 Air, and 17 Pro are expected to sport aluminium frames, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max could continue with a titanium build, similar to its predecessor. This material distinction is likely to reinforce the premium feel of the Pro Max variant and justify its higher price point.

Speaking of pricing, a modest hike of around $50 (₹4,000) is anticipated for all models except the base iPhone 17. This marks a subtle but expected increase in line with rising component costs and enhanced specs, especially for the Air and Pro variants.

Alongside the iPhone 17 series, Apple is also likely to introduce new Apple Watch models and the third-generation AirPods Pro at the same September event. More detailed announcements are expected in the weeks leading up to the official launch.
