The closure affects only the southbound direct-connector ramp from the DNT to southbound IH‑35E. Drivers should follow the signed detour route.

  • Exit the DNT at Oak Lawn Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Oak Lawn Avenue.
  • Turn left onto the IH‑35E southbound frontage road.
  • Enter southbound IH‑35E using the on‑ramp at Oak Lawn.

Message boards and signage will be in place to guide drivers through the detour.

Traffic Impact

Nighttime drivers should expect an additional five to 10 minutes of travel time, depending on traffic along Oak Lawn Avenue and the IH‑35E frontage road.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, stay alert, and follow posted signs and detour instructions.
