Police were called to the juvenile detention facility shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
DALLAS — A threat made at the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center in Dallas Wednesday has prompted a police investigation, officials say.
The Dallas Police Department says officers were called to the county’s juvenile detention facility in the 2600 block of Lone Star Drive shortly after 1 p.m.
Police say officers determined someone made a “threatening statement” at the facility. The nature of the threat is unclear, and no other details were immediately available.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office says the Dallas County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the incident.
WFAA chopper footage from the scene showed law enforcement stationed at the entrance to the building. Photos from the scene showed a Dallas County Fire Marshal’s Office vehicle and people gathered outside the facility.

Chopper footage appeared to show people returning inside the building shortly before 3 p.m.
The investigation into the threat is ongoing, police say.
