Man shot while trying to stop attempted robbery, Fort Worth police say

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving, officials said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating after someone was shot on Friday morning while trying to stop an attempted robbery at a bar, officials said.

According to police, officers were called Friday to the shooting at 2813 Cherry St. A suspect reportedly went into the bar with a gun to try and commit a robbery. A patron reportedly tried to fend the suspect off with a chair but was shot, police said.

The suspect then reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

Both the robbery and homicide units were notified of the incident, police said.

The condition of the man who was shot is unknown at this time.
