What’s The Latest Update On Lil’ Durk?
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Lil Durk—real name Durk Banks—was arrested back in October near Miami International Airport on some serious federal charges. Prosecutors allege that the 32-year-old rapper orchestrated a murder-for-hire plot targeting fellow rapper, Quando Rondo, which ultimately left a member of Rondo’s family dead in a 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in L.A. According to the Justice Department, Durk is accused of using interstate facilities to carry out the hit, a charge that could carry major consequences. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada called the act “cold-blooded” and claimed it endangered the public. Durk has since pleaded not guilty and remains in federal custody while the case unfolds.
Back in April, his team—and his girl India Royale—spoke loudly about what they say is a major injustice. In a joint statement released on Instagram and signed by the Banks family, they slammed the government for allegedly presenting false evidence to the grand jury and using Durk’s lyrics against him. “That isn’t justice.
