Stephen Jackson Drags Lil Yachty Over George Floyd Reference
Lil Yachty got the internet talking when he previewed a new song on Plaqueboymax’s stream. He had his crew with him while teasing some lyrics and folks immediately caught that he referenced George Floyd, saying, “Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd.”
Well, it looks like Yachty’s song caught Stephen Jackson’s attention too. The retired basketball player immediately called him out for disrespecting his friend. Stephen dropped a video on Instagram responding to Yachty, saying he’s trying to do right and focus on his life, but it’s hard to ignore idiots. From there, he went on to drag Yachty, saying he’s “been wack,” and added that using George Floyd’s name in a verse went too far.
“You think you saying George Floyd’s name and trying to use his name in a bar, that’s going to make people like your wack a** music, my n***a. That s**t is weak!” Stephen said.
Stephen didn’t stop there, he also said Yachty’s generation’s continued disrespect for the deceased isn’t “cool.” He then warned the rapper to never saying George’s name again.
“Don’t ever say his name, bro. None of y’all knew G or nothing about him. But y’all want to say his name for [clout]. Cut that s**t man, cause only you wack sambo n****s do s**t like that,” Jackson added.
