Bharti Airtel is broadening its digital service bundle in India by reportedly offering six months of free Apple Music to prepaid customers. Previously available only to postpaid and broadband users, this move extends Airtel’s partnership with Apple to a wider base. The launch follows Airtel’s recent rollout of free Perplexity AI Pro access, highlighting the telecom giant’s strategy to attract and retain users with premium digital perks.

Some Airtel prepaid customers have begun spotting a six-month free Apple Music trial inside the Airtel Thanks app, first reported by Telecom Talk. After the trial ends, subscriptions will auto-renew at ₹119 per month. Airtel hasn’t officially confirmed eligibility details yet, but the offer has been seen even on non-unlimited 5G plans, suggesting it may not be restricted to only high-value recharges. Customers can check their app to see if the benefit applies to their account.

This marks part of Airtel’s growing content bundling strategy. The telecom operator has been building partnerships with both global and Indian platforms, previously offering Apple TV+ and Apple Music to broadband and postpaid users earlier in 2025. The prepaid extension comes alongside Airtel’s OTT-rich recharge packs, which include access to platforms like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, SonyLIV, and more, covering entertainment in 16+ languages across India.

Among the plans, the ₹279 prepaid pack offers one month of OTT subscriptions worth ₹750, while a “content-only” variant provides the same streaming benefits with 1GB data. For heavy users, the ₹598 plan offers unlimited 5G data, calls, and OTT bundles for 28 days, whereas the premium ₹1,729 plan extends those benefits for 84 days. These offerings position Airtel as one of the few operators combining telecom services with premium digital content at scale.
Beyond entertainment, Airtel is also betting on productivity tools. In July 2025, it partnered with Perplexity AI to give all customers free access to the Pro tier worth ₹17,000 annually, covering advanced AI models, file uploads, and image generation. Together with Apple Music, Airtel’s bundling push reflects a dual strategy—entertainment plus next-gen digital utilities—that could increase customer stickiness and encourage prepaid users to explore premium platforms they might not otherwise pay for.
