Black Couple Takes Over 30 Underprivileged Children on Vacation With Them

Nationwide — Vanessa and Robert Williams, an African American couple from Camilla, Georgia, made a dream come true for more than 30 underprivileged children by taking them on a beach trip to Florida. With help from donations and volunteers, they gave the kids a chance to enjoy a vacation many had never experienced.

In May, the Williams set out to take children from their community on a day away from home. Vanessa, who works as an educator, said she often saw how many kids had never left Camilla, let alone been on vacation. She and her husband wanted to change that.

To make it possible, the couple teamed up with volunteers and donors. Together, they gathered enough funds and resources to cover food, activities, and transportation for the group.

According to WLBT, the group spent the day at Panama City Beach, where the children swam and played in the water. After the beach, they continued their fun at Dave and Busters, where games and laughter filled the evening.

“The children had an amazing time. They wanted to stay in the water the whole time,” Vanessa said. “The children played their little hearts out.”

Robert and Vanessa said the experience of watching the children enjoy themselves was unforgettable. They felt grateful for the outpouring of community support that made the trip possible.

The couple hopes to continue giving back to the Camilla community and create more opportunities for children to enjoy new experiences in the future.
