DALLAS — Dallas police officers can now add a bit of Texas flair to their uniforms.
The department announced this week on social media that officers have been approved to wear cowboy hats while on duty.
“Something new is landing at the Dallas Police Department,” the department wrote in a Facebook post, sharing photos of its Love Field Airport Unit sporting the hats. “Our officers are now approved to wear cowboy hats on duty! “
The department did not specify whether the new uniform option will be limited to certain units or available to all officers.
