“Charlie Kirk died in the world he helped create!”
Screenshots sharing similar views of netizens allegedly employed at Microsoft-owned Blizzard and Bethesda gaming firms went viral yesterday. The remarks riled up Charlie Kirk fans who are mourning the death of the 31-year-old conservative commentator. Kirk was fatally shot during an event held at the University of Utah on September 10. A staunch Trump ally, Kirk’s last deliberation while trying to answer a student was on gun violence.
Reacting to the screenshots, Elon Musk tagged Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and asked, “What’s going on here?” He further quipped, “These are Microsoft employees.”
Within an hour of Musk’s tweet at 2:32 AM (IST), Microsoft took to X/Twitter at 3:45 AM (IST) and remarked,
We’re aware of the views expressed by a small subset of our employees regarding recent events. We take matters like this very seriously and we are currently reviewing each individual situation.
The company further added,
Comments celebrating violence against anyone are unacceptable and do not align with our values.”

Here’s how the netizens reacted to the Microsoft tweet. A section of the internet demanded, “Fire them all.” One user remarked, “Too bad you didn’t get rid of THOSE employees as part of your layoffs. Oh well, next round.”
Another commented, “Meanwhile Israeli Nazis that are employed by Microsoft can cheer on genocide without any problems.”
Yet another jibed, “What happened to freedom of speech…oh yeah, we are in a dictatorship, right?”
