Tenisha Warner Shares First Public Message Since His Passing
On Friday, September 12, a post was shared on an Instagram account named “River and Ember.” To note, the account’s official biography reads, in part, “Imagine That: 𝚂𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢•𝚁𝚒𝚝𝚞𝚊𝚕•𝙴𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝚁𝚑𝚢𝚝𝚑𝚖 sᴇᴀsᴏɴᴀʟ ᴛᴇɴᴅɪɴɢ ғᴏʀ ᴄʜɪʟᴅʀᴇɴ’s ʜᴇᴀʀᴛs”
Furthermore, the initial slide in the post itself featured an apparent wedding photo of Tenisha and Malcolm-Jamal. Meanwhile, the caption of the post thanked the public for holding her and her family “in so much love during this tender time.” Additionally, Tenisha explained that September 13 marks her and Malcolm’s anniversary, and her “heart is wide open.” To note, per Page Six, the couple tied the knot in 2017.
“For the first time, I’m sharing a glimpse of the love that began it all. I can still hear my husband’s laugh, still feel the way he made room for every part of me — every tear, every dream,” she continued. “Today, in his honor, my daughter and I are launching River & Ember and officially opening The Warner Family Foundation.”
Tenisha explained that with the initiative she intends to “carry the legacy [her] husband and [her] began one that nurtures children’s inner light and gives young artists the freedom to create outside the lines.” Per Page Six, the foundation will strive to “[offer] parents strategies and toolkits for helping children through difficult times.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, TMZ published an exclusive report asserting that Malcolm-Jamal Warner passed away while vacationing in Costa Rica with his wife and daughter. Initially, a plethora of celebrities — all from Tracee Ellis Ross to Bill Cosby and Keshia Knight Pulliam — paid tribute to Malcolm-Jamal, per The Shade Room. Then, it was ultimately revealed that the 54-year-old lost his life after encountering a rip current while swimming at the beach.
