Hello Reader,
I hope you are getting ready for a beautiful weekend. Lately, it feels like the world is louder than ever, and it is easy to feel pulled in a hundred directions at once. That noise can make us forget one of the most powerful things we have, stillness.
There was a time in my life when I felt stuck, just moving from one task to the next, doing what I thought I was supposed to do. I never dreamed of becoming a hairstylist. It was simply the path that felt possible at the time. Hair opened doors I could not have imagined. I worked with amazing clients, traveled extensively, and built a successful career. And yet, even with all of that, I found myself asking myself what I really wanted my life to look like in the next five years.
I took a step back and started to notice a pattern. Every part of my work, whether it was giving a haircut, producing a photoshoot, or conducting an interview, had the same thread running through it. I was helping women see themselves differently. That was my purpose all along, and I had been missing it by focusing too much on the what instead of the why.
That clarity came from stillness. From pausing long enough to ask myself the tough questions. From listening to the quiet voice inside that had always known the answers.
Too often, we put our passions aside. One day, I will publish that book. One day, I will perform on stage. One day, I will start that project. The answer is not out there somewhere. It is already inside you. It is waiting for you to notice it, nurture it, and take the next step.
The world will always be loud. Social media, news, expectations, they will always be there. But the key is to focus on your world. Step away. Listen. Explore your dreams. Like Glinda said to Dorothy in The Wiz, it has been with you all along.
It is time to ease on down your road and step into the life you were meant to live.
