Paytm Checkin includes an in-app AI assistant that lets users browse, compare, and book travel through a simple conversational interface. Beyond booking, the assistant can suggest destinations and build personalised itineraries based on user interests. Paytm says the app uses AI to tailor results to individual travel history and patterns, though these features are still in beta.

The company’s move toward AI-driven travel tools reflects its broader strategy of leaning into emerging technologies. Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently told analysts that AI-led product innovation will play a key role in boosting the company’s revenue growth.

Paytm sees AI as a way to improve not just customer-facing apps but also its merchant ecosystem. The company has begun integrating AI into its soundbox devices to provide smarter, real-time insights.
These AI-enabled merchant tools can also respond to voice commands and offer analytics, helping sellers manage operations more efficiently, a sign that Paytm aims to expand AI across both consumer and business touchpoints.
Vikash Jalan, CEO, Paytm Travel stated, “We are taking a big step in AI-led travel with Paytm Checkin, creating a new and smarter way for people to plan and book their journeys. We believe AI will change the way travel bookings are done, and with Paytm Checkin, we are bringing a world-class, AI-first experience through a dedicated app designed to make travel planning simple, personal, and effortless.”
